Tricks-4-Fun

This class is designed for anyone with a dog. ONLY Tricks will be taught in this class. This class is great alone or as an addition to any other class available. Any dog can be a performer! 

 

Canine Good Citizen Class

(Pre-requisite:  High School)

This class is designed to train the pet dog to pass the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Test. This class will focus on teaching the behaviors and skills necessary to pass the CGC. The class will also work on modifying behavior problems that may prevent your dog from earning a CGC title. CGC testing will be scheduled for a separate date.


Walk this Way:  Conquering Leash Walking

This is a 4 week one hour short course focusing specifically on leash walking. The first week will cover different techniques and equipment that can be used to combat leash pulling, followed by week 2 of practicing at the training center. Week 3 & 4 will consist of local field trips to practice leash walking in real life situations.

Visiting Pet Training Class

(Dogs over 1 year.  Pre-requisite:  HS and Pre-screening.)

This class is designed to prepare owners and their pets for work as a Therapy Dog.  Students qill take turns going through mock evaluations as well as assisting in the evaluation for other students.  This class has a one-time yearly price.  Only VPP member, certified dogs or dogs who have passed the pre-therapy dog class may attend this class. Pets other than dogs are welcome to practice in this class but pre-screening is required. Please call for a list of accepted pets and individual pre-screening appointments. This is an on-going class with a yearly price.

Pre-Therapy Dog Training

(Pre-requisite:  High School or permission.) 

This is a pre-screening, pre-training class that focuses both on evaluating suitability and teaching therapy dog skills. During the session, the dogs will be evaluated for temperament suitability for therapy dog work as well as evaluated for their behavior and training level. This class will teach students the exercises and behaviors needed to pass a therapy dog evaluation. At the end of the session, students will be told whether or not their dog is suitable and/or ready to begin evaluation practice.
