K9 Nosework
(No experience required!): Dogs have an amazing sense of smell and a natural desire to hunt. The sport of K9 Nose Work is designed to develop your dog?s natural scenting abilities by using their desire to hunt and their love of toys, food and exercise. It?s a great way for your dog to have fun, build confidence, and burn lots of mental and physical energy. DOGS OF ANY AGE, BREED OR SKILL LEVEL CAN SUCCEED AT K9 NOSEWORK!!!
Tricks-4-Fun
This class is designed for anyone with a dog. ONLY Tricks will be taught in this class. This class is great alone or as an addition to any other class available. Any dog can be a performer!
Walk this Way: Conquering Leash Walking
This is a 4 week one hour short course focusing specifically on leash walking. The first week will cover different techniques and equipment that can be used to combat leash pulling, followed by week 2 of practicing at the training center. Week 3 & 4 will consist of local field trips to practice leash walking in real life situations.
Canine Musical Freestyle
Musical freestyle is a relatively new sport that combines dog obedience, tricks and dance in a way that is totally unique and exciting. It blends dog obedience and dance presenting a visually exciting display of handler and canine teamwork. Freestyle tricks, heeling and obedience will be covered.
Dog Sports Sampler
(No experience Required!):
Not really sure what you or your dog will like? Try the DOG SPORTS SAMPLER!!! The Dog Sports Sampler will be offered a few times a year to give students the opportunity to try a bunch of different dog sports. This will be a 6 week class. Each week/class a different Dog Sport will be introduced. This class will give students the chance to try a little of everything without committing to 6 weeks of a sport that they or their dog may not be into. The class will provide you with an introduction to Tricks, Musical Freestyle, Rally Obedience, Treibal, K9 Noseworks, Agility, Games and more!
Canine Good Citizen Class (Pre-requisite: High School)
This class is designed to train the pet dog to pass the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Test. This class will focus on teaching the behaviors and skills necessary to pass the CGC. The class will also work on modifying behavior problems that may prevent your dog from earning a CGC title. CGC testing will be scheduled for a separate date.
Visiting Pet Training Class (Dogs over 1 year. Pre-requisite: HS and Pre-screening.)
This class is designed to prepare owners and their pets for work as a Therapy Dog. Students qill take turns going through mock evaluations as well as assisting in the evaluation for other students. This class has a one-time yearly price. Only VPP member, certified dogs or dogs who have passed the pre-therapy dog class may attend this class. Pets other than dogs are welcome to practice in this class but pre-screening is required. Please call for a list of accepted pets and individual pre-screening appointments.
Rally Obedience
(Beginner Level. PreRequisite: Beg & Int Obedience): Rally obedience (also known as Rally or Rally-O) is a dog sport based on obedience. Handlers proceed around a course of designated stations with the dog in heel position. The course consists of 10 to 20 signs that instruct the team what to do. Unlike traditional obedience, handlers are allowed to encourage their dogs during the course. Come try out this fun way to practice your obedience!
Dog Crafts
Do you love your dog and and ALL DOG THINGS!!! Come, join us for a fun Dog Crafts class! No prior ART experience necessary! PAWtraits, dog leashes, dog collars, dog toys, cards, and water bowls are just a few of the crafts that we will be working on. SUPPLIES INCLUDED IN THE CLASS PRICE! Bring your dogs, a bowl of water, something for them to chew on or play with while you are crafting and a mat for them to rest on!
